As it starts to transition from fall to winter we all start to notice a tendency on things we need to have in order to make it through this chilly season. Below I listed a few of my must haves

1.) Ugg Boots

a basic, but a must! It's too cold outside to not have sheepskin lined boots with fleece on the inside.

2.) Fuzzy Socks

for when you're not wearing your Ugg boots (Target is the best for the holidays)

ree

3.) Starbucks Holiday Drinks

(Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulee Mocha, Chestnut Praline Latte, etc.) to get festive, stay warm, & keep you energized while you're on the go.

4.) Leggings

This one could literally be a year round must, especially as a college student. In the winter there's so many outfit possibilities. Lululemon has the best leggings, from the the fabric to the durability (100% worth the price). I've had just about every brand of leggings & none beat Lululemon.

5.) Cargo Jacket

They're super in right now, and they're warm

6.) Lip Balm

Ya'll do not forget your chapstick!!! Nobody likes crusty lips, the cold weather will make your lips chapped. Literally less than $3 and can be bought just about anywhere.

As the last month of the semester is approaching a lot of us students are asking the same question, "How do I finish strong?" So I made a list of a few things that I've been doing since High School that have really helped me.

Tips to finish the semester strong

  • Wake up early & go to sleep early

(Waking up early helps us be more productive through out the day & get more things done, & the more sleep we get the better we retain information)

  • Fast from social media

(The less distractions, the better!! keep your eye on the prize)

  • Workout

(This is one of the most effective tips i could give anyone. Working out has helped, me with so many aspects of my life. It is actually helps to exercise before school because it improves focus & reduces ADHD symptoms.

  • No procrastinating

(Lets be honest, we all procrastinate but during the last month of the semester is not the time to do it. DO NOT put off studying for finals for last minute)

  • Travel accordingly

(By this I mean do not travel over Thanksgiving to visit the family if you already have tons of absences. Be honest with yourself and think if you can afford the absence and if it will jeopardize your grade)

  • Make a list of what you want to accomplish next semester

(I cannot stress enough on how it's so important to have vision of what you want for yourself. Without vision we have no purpose. Find what you want for yourself and don't stop until you get it)

WARNING!!!!: IN ORDER TO GET THE FULL EFFECT OF THIS BLOG POST RUN TO YOUR NEAREST STARBUCKS & PICK UP SOME MATCHA TO DRINK WHILE ENJOYING THIS READ.

Ok, now that I've gotten that out of the way lets start of by listing the benefits of drinking matcha and what it really is. Matcha, according to Google is "powdered green tea leaves, dissolved in hot water to make tea." Being a form of powder it can be made into just about anything, for example: pudding, lattes, lemonade, pancakes, ice cream, cheesecake, and many many more. Recipes can all be found on Pinterest on all the many ways matcha can be prepared. The main reason that I love matcha so much and drink it everyday is because of the health benefits.

benefits of Matcha include:

~ boosts metabolism & burns calories

~ detoxifies

~ provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc & magnesium

~ lowers cholesterol & blood sugar

~ provides steady energy (doesn't give you the jitters like coffee)

Starbucks matcha order:

Venti Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte

~ Venti

~ Soy Milk

~ Light Ice

~ 8 Scoops Matcha Powder

*best part is that it gives me a super flat tummy after drinking it, & helps when I'm intermittent fasting*
